You and your partner went to watch a movie. After the movie is over, check for yourself and your partner, if either of you often discuss the movie then it is more towards love. If the movie increases the intimacy of your relationship then it is partly love and partly lust. Not bad after all. The other extreme case might not go out together.
If you had a fight on the day of your first anniversary instead exchanging gifts and cards or spending time together, the relationship has lost love.
How are your partner’s feelings for you? A raging fire or an unheard message on an answering machine! If it is like a cup of hot chocolate on a rainy day, love is at the root or your relationship.
How does your partner behave when you are upset? If he hugs and tells you that it will be fine then it is love. Rather on the other extreme, he might think you are forever complaining.
Does your partner listen when you talk about your feelings? Does he try to understand what you are saying? Or does he get intimate even though you are serious? Does your partner simply make an excuse to leave out of the room? Check for yourself. It is easy to find out.
